Thank you for choosing The Fluff Element for your grooming experience! Your pet is extremely important to us and we would like to assure you that every effort will be made to make your pet’s grooming experience as pleasant and safe as possible. 

Appointments: 

Scheduled appointments will have a 15 min grace period for arrival. After allotted time has passed, the appointment will be cancelled/rescheduled and missed appointment fees will be applied to next appointment ($25). 

 Cancellations:  

If you need to change your appointment time or cancel it, you must give more than a 24-hour notice so the appointment time can be made available for another client who is on the waiting list. If cancelled within 24-hour period before appointment- a "cancellation/rescheduling" fee will be added to the next service ($25). 

Boarding/Daycare fee: 

Pet owners: Please be advised that pets must be picked up within one hour of completion of their grooming session. Failure to do so will result in additional fees being applied. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring the timely pickup of your beloved pets.  Any pets left after grooming has closed will be subject to charges after a 10-minute grace period. 

Health & Medical Problems and/or Senior Dogs: 

 Grooming procedures can be stressful sometimes, especially for senior dogs or dogs with health problems. Because of this, grooming can expose hidden medical problems as well as aggravate a current one- whether it be during or after the groom. Because senior dogs and dogs with health problems have greater risk of injury, these dogs will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort as The Fluff Element WILL NOT compromise any dog's health and/or well-being to achieve "the perfect groom." The owner will advise The Fluff Element of any medical, physical, emotional issues, allergies, sensitivities, or pre-existing conditions. These conditions may include, but are not limited to- prior surgeries, hip and/or joint issues, warts, moles, ear infections, or skin problems. The owner will also inform 

The Fluff Element of new conditions as they arise. By signing below, the owner is stating that The Fluff Element has permission to groom their senior dog and has discussed any and all (past and present) health problems. 

Fleas & Ticks:  

If fleas are found on your pet, The Fluff Element’s policy is to give a flea bath at an additional $10-$20, depending on severity. This cost covers the special shampoo, time and extra clean-up to ensure no fleas or ticks are active on your pet. You will be notified immediately. Flea shampoo kills the fleas on the pet- if fleas are in the home and/or pet area, the flea shampoo will not protect the pet(s) from them once grooming is complete. The Fluff Element recommends a monthly flea preventative provided by your vet. 

Matted Dog Policy:  

Pets with matted coats will require extra attention. If the matting is minimal and the pet responds well, they may be brushed out for an additional fee ($10-20+). If The Fluff Element does not believe we can remove the matting in a timely manner or feel your pet is in pain, we will not continue and will clip short/shave. The Fluff Element firmly believes grooming should be an enjoyable experience and will not put your pet through the discomfort of unnecessary de-matting. You will be notified immediately before shaving your dog, if permission is denied- your pet will not get a bath or haircut. There is greater risk of nicking, scratching, cuts, etc.; on a matted dog during the grooming process. In addition, the skin may appear red, itchy, and irritated due to the lack of oxygen reaching in and under the mats. The Fluff Element will not be held responsible for an injury sustained while grooming a matted dog, including any aftereffects. The Fluff Element will be happy to demonstrate some effective brushing techniques to prevent matting in the future. Regular maintenance at home with a brush, comb, and conditioner spray, as well as keeping your dog on a 4-6 week grooming schedule will prevent matting. 

Accidents: 

 Although accidents are rare, there is a risk when dealing with pets. Grooming equipment is sharp, and although extreme caution and care is used in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. In most cases this can happen when a pet is wiggling or moving around. Any incident, no matter how small will be communicated to the pet owner. Any veterinary bills resulting from a pet being matted, elderly, aggressive, difficult temperament, or from a pre-existing or unforeseeable condition will be the sole responsibility of the owner. Your pet’s safety and comfort is our number one priority. If an accident does occur, you will be notified immediately. 

Use of Muzzles:  

Muzzling does not harm your pet and protects both the pet and the groomer. In some cases, muzzling may calm a stressed animal, allowing the grooming process to continue. If your pet still acts in a way that is dangerous, The Fluff Element has the right to stop grooming services at any time and a service fee will be collected. The Fluff Element WILL NOT muzzle unless your pet gives us the reason to. 

Dangerous/Aggressive or Behavioral Issues:  

Owner must inform The Fluff Element if your pet bites, has bitten, is aggressive, unpredictable, and/or has any other behavioral issues. If the pet owner fails to notify the company of any potential danger or behavioral issues, you can and will be liable for all medical fees, out of work compensation, as well as any kind of property damage. The Fluff Element will make every attempt to groom uncooperative pets but may not be able to complete grooming on pets that pose a threat to themselves or the groomer. The Fluff Element reserves the right to muzzle any dog for their safety or safety of the groomer- if the owner does not allow a muzzle, service will be halted, and a fee will be charged for what was completed. Extremely aggressive and unruly pets will NOT be groomed. If a dog is felt to be exhibiting behavior that is unsafe regarding itself or the groomer- it may be the best interest of the pet that the groom is stopped. A fee will be charged depending on work completed up to that point. 

The Fluff Element has the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services, or cancel grooming services at any time before, during, or after grooming and the client will be charged. The Fluff Element WILL NEVER SEDATE YOUR ANIMAL. 

Satisfaction:  

Your satisfaction is important to The Fluff Element! If you are unhappy for any reason, and would like something adjusted, The Fluff Element would be happy to make any adjustments. Once the pet, however, has left the premises, we will only honor adjustments within 72 hours of the appointment. Any adjustments after 72 hours will be charged a grooming fee of some kind. 

 The Fluff Element may take pictures or videos of your pet, before and after grooming- for the website, advertising, and education.
